Continuing ordered list works in the markdown, but renders with different numbers

I was writing an ordered list with some stuff in between the list items. In the past when I have done this, all I had to do was restart the list where I left off (say, if the next item is #7, I can type ```7. some more stuff``` and the next will be #8, resuming the list at the point specified. This continues to work for me, but the preview is displaying the wrong numbers (starting from 1 again). Restarting the program does not help. Not sure if this is a bug or an expected behavior (I'm crap about reading documentation).
